A week after his heart attack, the safety of the Bills was able to leave Ohio.
Doctors at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center said Damar Hamlin was discharged from hospital and was able to fly Monday for admission to a Buffalo-area hospital.
According to his doctors, he is able to move around on his own, and will continue his recovery in the state of New York. The medical community is very optimistic about his quick recovery, but he will continue to be tested and monitored. His condition has changed from “critical” to “good”, and he has no neurological sequelae.
“I can confirm that he is fine, and that this is the start of the next stage of his recovery,” said Dr. William Knight at a press conference according to NFL.com.
Hamlin was deintubated last Friday, and was able to get in touch with his family and teammates. He was notably able to watch Sunday’s meeting between the Bills and the Patriots, and was awarded the game ball after the game.
