Dalvin Cook cut by Jets

The runner failed to revive his career in New York. A boon for a title candidate?

Running back Dalvin Cook was just cut this Tuesday by the Jets after less than a season according to NFL Network and his agent.

Signed last offseason after being cut by the Vikings, the runner failed to adapt to his new team. His performance will have been more than average. In 15 games, his record is 67 carries, and only 214 yards. His last game against the Dolphins will not go down in history with only 1 carry for 4 yards.

But, above all, during this short period, he did not score any touchdowns. However, he is coming off a season with more than 1000 yards and 8 touchdowns with the Vikings last season.

A candidate for the title to revive it?

According to ESPN, Dalvin Cook has agreed to restructure his contract. He also renounces all the guarantees promised when signing.

Aged 29, the four-time Pro Bowler could serve as a title candidate. His profile as a number 2 runner could serve an already established running game.

For the Jets, this means that Breece Hall and rookie Israel Abanikanda will share the majority of the carries. As a reminder, a few months ago, the franchise had already cut another runner with Michael Carter, now with the Cardinals.
