The Cowboys announce on their official account that CeeDee Lamb's 2024 season is over. NFL Network and ESPN confirm the information.
The Cowboys star receiver has been dealing with a shoulder injury since early November during the game against the Falcons. However, the player insisted on being on the field, risking aggravating his injury. It is therefore 2 games from the end of the regular season that the Cowboys end their season. The team announced at the same time that the man who became one of the highest paid receivers in the league last summer should not undergo surgery.
He therefore joins quarterback Dak Prescott, guard Zack Martin, defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence and cornerback Trevon Diggs in the list of Cowboys players whose season is ending.
Even more than 100 receptions for CeeDee Lamb in 2024
This season, the Cowboys receiver has once again been a big help regardless of the quarterback. He finished with a record of 101 receptions, 1194 yards and 6 touchdowns. Over the last 2 games, he recorded more than 100 receiving yards in a single half.
CeeDee Lamb is just the 3rd player in NFL history to record 100+ receptions in 3 of his first 5 seasons. He thus joins Michael Thomas (ex-Saints) and Brandon Marshall (ex-Broncos) in this area.
To replace him, the Cowboys can count on Brandin Cooks or Jalen Tolbert. Ryan Flournoy, Jalen Brooks and the disappointing Jonathan Mingo, who arrived before the trade deadline, should also show up in these last 2 games.
A spot on the Cowboys roster could be in play to help CeeDee Lamb long term.
