End of a short run for Jahan Dotson in Washington. The 24-year-old receiver has been sent to the Eagles, as announced by ESPN's Adam Schefter. The Commanders receive a third-round pick in the upcoming draft in exchange. The Commanders also received two seventh-round picks, and gave up a fifth-round pick in the deal.
Selected with the 16th pick in the 2022 draft, Jahan Dotson caught 84 balls for 1,041 yards and 11 touchdowns in two seasons in the capital. Decent statistics, but far from what you would expect from a first-round receiver. Not enough, apparently, for the Commanders, who chose to sell him to a division rival.
Jahan Dotson comes to shield the Eagles
With this move, the Eagles significantly strengthen their receiving corps, adding a prime target behind AJ Brown and DeVonta Smith. With Dallas Goedert also in the mix and the addition of Saquon Barkley, Jalen Hurts has no shortage of quality offensive weapons to keep the chains moving.
The Commanders, meanwhile, are taking away a target from Jayden Daniels. Not necessarily the best thing to do to give a rookie quarterback confidence.
