Commanders change hands

After several weeks of rumors and behind-the-scenes negotiations, the transaction is concluded. According to ESPN and NFL Network, the franchise in the capital is (finally) changing hands and will now be in the hands of businessman Josh Harris, already a shareholder of the Philadelphia Sixers in the NBA and the New Jersey Devis in the NHL. The amount of the transaction is expected to reach $6 billion. Absolute record in all sports.

The announcement was confirmed by a statement from now ex-Commanders boss Dan Snyder and his wife Tanya.

“We are very pleased to have reached an agreement for the sale of the Commanders franchise with local native Josh Harris and his impressive group of partners. We look forward to the speedy completion of this transaction and to entrenching Josh and the team for years to come. »

Very controversial for several years and dragging pans worthy of the batteries of the greatest cooks, Dan Snyder leaves the hand after 24 years.

At the head of a consortium including Magic Johnson and the former CEO of Google, Eric Schmidt, Harris, 58, was already in the race to buy the Broncos in 2022. Finally he will have waited another year to fulfill his ambition in the NFL.
