Taylor Heinicke will return to the field for Washington.
According to NFL Media, Carson Wentz fractured his finger during Thursday’s game against the Bears and will be out for 4-6 weeks. A passage through the list of injured is possible depending on the final diagnosis.
Acquired in a trade with Indianapolis this summer, Wentz will probably give way to Taylor Heinicke, with Sam Howell in the role of understudy. His passage through the infirmary will ultimately impact the compensation received by the Colts in the transaction. If he finishes the season having played 70% of Washington’s offensive actions, Indianapolis will receive a second round draft pick, which will be reduced to a third round if this fraction is not reached.
Since the start of the season, the quarterback of the federal capital has recorded 1489 yards on 232 passes attempted, for 10 touchdowns and 6 interceptions. The Commanders currently emerge in last place in the NFC East, with a two-for-four record.
In succession Heinicke was established 15 times last year. He passed for 3,419 yards, 20 touchdowns and 15 interceptions for a record of seven wins and eight losses.
