Colts: the Jonathan Taylor imbroglio continues

The soap opera about Colts star runner Jonathan Taylor continues. While NFL Network reported that the player wanted to leave, to the point of asking for his transfer to the franchise, Colts president Jim Irsay was inflexible in a message to journalist Albert Breer.

We don’t trade Jonathan… end of discussion

As soon as this episode ended, a new twist took place, this time concerning the state of health of the player. ESPN reports that the player failed his physical test, and that it would be due in part to a back injury which occurred outside of his activities as a footballer. This then opens the door to a designation on the non-football-related injured list. It also potentially means Taylor can lose his 2023 salary and have his contract pushed back to 2024.

Yes, but… the player immediately reacted on Twitter, assuring that he had no back problems.

1.) I have never had back pain. 2.) Never reported back pain. You don’t know who the “sources” are, but find new ones

Back to square one, waiting for the new episode around the former Wisconsin player. There is no doubt that coach Shane Steichen would have done well without this soap opera for his first camp in Indiana.
