Colts – Steelers (27-24): Joe Flacco punishes the Steelers

Indianapolis was in the lead throughout the meeting. Despite a comeback from the Steelers at the end of the game, offensive errors left Pittsburgh with no chance of defeating the Colts.

For the Colts, Anthony Richardson effective but brief

A first drive (10 actions, 70 yards) well led by Colts quarterback, Anthony Richardson (4 passes, 71 yards). It resulted in a touchdown run by J. Taylor (88 yards, one touchdown) in just under three minutes.

Unfortunately for Colts fans, Richardson was replaced with 5 minutes left in the first quarter. On an action that could have cost a fumble, the quarterback injured his hip. But Joe Flacco (26 passes, 168 yards, 2 TDs) can continue the attack for a touchdown from J. Downs (82 yards, a touchdown) and 14-0 for the Colts after 12:30 of play.

Well locked down by the steel defense, Flacco only found the solution during the fourth quarter. Thanks to errors from the defenders, like a personal foul by Mr. Fitzpatrick, he found D. Ogletree (TE) for a touchdown with a 15-yard pass.

Steelers side, Justin Fields: good and very bad

On alternating current during the entire match, Justin Fields (312 yards, 3 TDs including two on the run) is the symbol of this defeat. With three touchdowns, the quarterback was able to find intervals during the second half. His running game was able to compensate for the weak performances of Pittsburgh runners. But the last attack represents his inconsistency with an error on a snap where he seemed to look elsewhere.

The Steelers made way too many mistakes. A fumble by G. Pickens (7 receptions for 113 yards) 5 yards from the scoring zone ends the first real attack during the second quarter. After returning from the locker room, the penalties follow one another and Justin Fields loses the ball after backing up almost 20 yards.

A start of suspense at the end of the meeting

With 27 points, the Colts scored more than the Steelers' first three opponents. Despite a three-point comeback at the end of the match and tight end P. Freirmuth's touchdown 3:46 from time, the Steelers had very little hope. The Colts won the turnover battle.

This victory allows the Colts to have a balanced record, but will the future be with A. Richardson or J. Flacco? Same on the Steelers side, will Justin Fields' inconsistency allow him to keep the starting position?
