Colts: $42 million for Jonathan Taylor

This is the end of the Jonathan Taylor soap opera. THE journalist Adam Schefter announced that the Colts have extended the star runner for four seasons and $42 million, including $26.5 million guaranteed. This contract is the largest at the position since Chubb in 2021.

Between real/fake injury and transfer request, Taylor’s summer has been turbulent. On the injured list for the first four weeks, he will therefore begin his season in week 5 against the Titans. A star runner at the University of Wisconsin, Taylor began his NFL career with two memorable seasons in 2020 and 2021, even becoming an All Pro in the second.

Further behind in 2022 in a team adrift, Jonathan Taylor will be keen to get back on track in 2023. In the wake of a valiant Anthony Richardson, the Colts are also in the race in the AFC South and there is no doubt that Shane Steichen must be happy to be able to get his best asset back in a system driven primarily by the running game.
