Chiefs send L'Jarius Sneed to Titans

The Chiefs were able to keep Chris Jones, but not L’Jarius Sneed. ESPN announces that the cornerback has just been sent to the Titans.

In exchange, Kansas City receives a 3rd round pick from the 2025 Draft. The two teams will also exchange their 7th round picks.

Bleacher Report clarifies that Sneed is expected to sign a new 4-year contract for $76 million upon his arrival in Tennessee.

Jarius Sneed strengthens the Titans' air coverage

Drafted in the 4th round in 2020, Sneed has gained momentum over his four seasons in Kansas City. Last year, he was one of the best cornerbacks in the league, as he did not allow a single touchdown in coverage during the regular season. However, he was responsible for the best opposing receiver on at least 65% of snaps in at least seven games, according to ESPN statistics.

In 57 games with the Chiefs, including 54 as a starter, he intercepted 10 passes and defended 40 balls. With Chidobe Awuzie, signed during the offseason, he will offer a superb cornerback duo to the Titans.

On the Kansas City side, it was a question of cleaning up the accounts. Sneed's departure saves almost $20 million in payroll! They had placed the franchise tag on him a few weeks ago, but a trade had always seemed in the pipeline.

The summary of the exchange

– Chiefs receive: 3rd round pick in 2025 + 7th round pick swap

– The Titans receive: L’Jarius Sneed (CB)
