Chiefs – Bears (41-10): Patrick Mahomes is dominant, Justin Fields is desperate

Kansas City Chiefs (2-1) – Chicago Bears (0-3): 41-10

Between the defending champion and the worst team in the NFL, the suspense did not even last a half. After the first act, the Chiefs already had a 34-point lead, with 312 yards compared to 88 for the Bears. Patrick Mahomes (24/33, 272 yards, 3 TD) didn’t even have to force himself to splash the game with his talent, relying on 10 different targets in this game. The gap in this match was so enormous that FOX stopped the transmission of the match at half-time to choose another poster, an extremely rare event which illustrates the gap in level.

The defense also needs to be highlighted, as each line did a monstrous job to build the victory. On the Chicago side, there is nothing to save. The players don’t play as a team, Justin Fields (11/22, 99 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT, 47 yards rushing) is disastrous, DJ Moore (41 yards, 1 TD) has disappeared (except when it no longer matters ). Even the defensive rookies are overwhelmed, and the absence of a defensive coordinator has been felt.

With this new victory, the Chiefs are relaunching themselves in the AFC. For Chicago the question is whether they will be number 1 in the draft, or only on the podium.

The Long Walk of Kansas City

Touchdown, Kansas City. This is the sentence that resonated in the stadium throughout the first half. Jerick McKinnon (28 yards, 2 TD) opens the ball with an easy touchdown (7-0). A little later it was Clyde Edwards-Helaire (57 yards, 1 TD) who scored on the ground (14-0). Eight minutes later, it was double for McKinnon (21-0).

Not seeming to want to waver, Kansas City will continue to dominate on the ground and in the air. Isiah Pacheco (78 yards, 1 TD) takes part in the festival, before a field goal to close the first act (34-0).

Chicago’s long ordeal

While a start is hoped for in the second act, it is still the Chiefs who score. Travis Kelce (69 yards, 1 TD) collects his touchdown, in a game where Andy Reid tries to make everyone happy. In the ultimate humiliation, Andy Reid brought out most of his starters in the middle of the third quarter, more than 20 minutes before the end of the match.

Blaine Gabbert will also stand out, with two interceptions on his first two drives, which will allow Chicago to score the first points of this match. First on a field goal, then on a touchdown from DJ Moore (41-10).
