Chase Young will bounce back in New Orleans

After a few months spent in San Francisco, the defensive end will sign with the Saints.

Chase Young was supposed to meet the Saints last weekend, but the meeting was postponed. Missed opportunity? In the end it was only a step back to jump better, since the defensive end reached an agreement with the Louisiana franchise. ESPN reports that it's a one-year, fully guaranteed contract worth $13 million.

The former second choice in the 2020 draft received the title of best defensive rookie with Washington, but struggled to confirm all expectations in the federal capital, particularly because of a knee injury. In the midst of rebuilding, the Commanders sent him to San Francisco last October. But once again, freelancing was not sufficiently convincing. Young therefore leaves the bay with 10 tackles and 2.5 sacks made in 9 games for the 49ers.

At only 24 years old, Young will try to relaunch his career in the bayou. But the question of his physical state and his performance continues to arise. The fact remains that it still represents attractive potential for NFL franchises, since the Panthers and the Titans were also in the running.
