The Bears and Chase Claypool part ways. The receiver is sent to the Dolphins
Chase Claypool and the Bears are already over!
This Friday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network announced that the Bears and the Dolphins have agreed to trade the receiver. The Bears send a 7th round pick from the 2025 Draft and Chase Claypool for a 6th round pick from the 2025 Draft belonging to the Dolphins.
Isolated and sidelined from the team for several days, Chase Claypool will have only caught 18 balls and 1 touchdown for the Bears in just 10 games. Remember that the player was picked up last year for a first round pick…
The Bears therefore quickly recognized the fiasco of their previous exchange and decided not to worry for too long with the receiver.
On the Dolphins side, it’s a bet with no real risk for the team. Miami is the best offense in the league at the start of the season and does not “need” Claypool to score points. At worst the transfer is a failure for a 6th round, at best the player brings a physical profile that the Dolphins don’t really have and the Hill-Waddle-Claypool trio can be scary.
