Cardinals part ways with Kliff Kingsbury

Direction the exit for the coach who had signed an extension less than a year ago.

It’s the end of the Kliff Kingsbury experiment in Arizona. According to ESPN, the franchise has decided to break the contract that binds it with the technician. A contract which had been extended 10 months ago and which was supposed to run until 2027.

After three years of growth, Kingsbury qualified his team for the playoffs last year with a record of 11 wins and 6 losses, but suffered a setback in the first round. This season the Cardinals are heavily down to earth with a record of 4 wins for 13 losses.

When he arrived in 2019, the coach had decided to select his quarterback of the future, Kyler Murray, with the first general choice of the draft. An association that has experienced ups and downs, the relationship between the two men having struggled to stabilize.

During its century-long history, the franchise has not seen much stability. The club has never had a head coach who held his position for more than six seasons.

But the spring cleaning may not be over in Arizona. According to NFL Media, Steve Keim, general manager, has told the team he is stepping down. Currently on leave for health reasons, owner Michael Bidwill planned to keep him in management, but in a less important position.
