The NFL definitely wields metaphor in an astonishing way when it comes to the medical field.
Days after watching Tua Tagovailoa collapse in what the Dolphins called “back pain,” JJ Watt was scheduled to miss practice Wednesday and Thursday due to illness.
A little flu? Not really.
“I had atrial fibrillation on Wednesday, my heart was shocked to get it back into rhythm and I’m playing this Sunday,” the Cardinals player tweeted.
Said like that, it just sounds like a dance step problem.
Treatment was able to be administered to Watt to return his heart to a normal rhythm. And the doctors must have made sure that he was fine. But in the current context, the news is rather chilling.
I was just told somebody leaked some personal information about me and it’s going to be reported on today.
I went into A-Fib on Wednesday, had my heart shocked back into rhythm on Thursday and I’m playing today.
That’s it.
