Cameron Heyward to sign 3 more years with the Steelers

Cameron Heyward has signed a new contract with his long-time franchise, the Pittsburgh Steelers, for three additional years worth $45 million.

This sum is indexed to his last year of current contract. In total, it is 29 million dollars which are added, of which 16 million are totally guaranteed according to ESPN and Jeremy Fowler. Cameron Heyward is now linked to the Steelers until 2026.

Man of iron, mind of steel

Cam Heyward got what he always wanted. A one-team man, the player announced that he wanted to end up with his franchise. His new contract allows him to hope to fulfill this wish. In 2026, the defensive lineman will be 38 years old and will definitely be at the twilight of a long and beautiful career.

Back in 2011, with their first round pick, the Pittsburgh Steelers selected Cameron Heyward, defensive tackle from Ohio State University. Fast forward 13 years later, the captain of the yellow and blacks has participated in 6 Pro Bowls, has been elected to 4 All-Pro teams and above all has received the honorary distinction of “Man of the Year” in the NFL in 2023, which rewards the positive impact of a player off the field.

Statistically, Cameron Heyward has amassed 80.5 sacks, 8 forced fumbles and 47 passes defended. A nice line that has 3 years to continue to swell.
