Buccaneers – Ravens (31-41): Lamar Jackson in demonstration

Tampa Bay Buccaneers (4-3) – Baltimore Ravens (5-2): 31-41

Lamar Jackson (17/22, 281 yards, 5 TDs) was in MVP mode this Monday evening. The Ravens quarterback threw 5 touchdowns, to which he added 52 yards rushing. With a big game for Derrick Henry (15 carries, 169 yards) as a bonus, Baltimore rolled over the Buccaneers defense, accumulating more than 500 yards!

Opposite atmosphere for a Tampa team which experienced a disaster evening. Firstly because they led before conceding 34 points in a row! But especially because Mike Evans (1 rec, 25 yards, 1 TD) came out with an hamstring muscle injury, and Chris Godwin (7 rec, 65 yards) followed him to the infirmary at the end of the match because of a problem that seems serious with the ankle. Godwin was taken away on a stretcher.

Jet Ravens

If the outcome is good, the start was difficult for the Ravens. Mike Evans broke through their defense for a 25-yard touchdown on the first possession of the game. And after an offensive failure from Baltimore, Tampa added a field goal to lead 10-0 at the end of the first quarter, having monopolized the ball for more than 10 minutes.

Except that Lamar Jackson and the defense will wake up with a start. With a touchdown pass for Mark Andrews in the first case. Then with two consecutive interceptions from Marlon Humphrey. The first when the Buccaneers were 3 short yards from the end zone. These two interceptions are punished by the Ravens attack, with a touchdown from Justice Hill (3 rec, 44 yards, 1 TD), then a field goal. And here Baltimore went back in front at the break: 17-10.

Too late for the Buccaneers

The break does not help the Buccaneers' affairs. The Ravens score another field goal and two touchdowns to take the lead (10-34). Rashaad White finally finds the fault (10 races, 40 yards – 6 rec, 71 yards, 2 TDs) (18-34), but Derrick Henry responds to him on reception (18-41).

Tampa created an illusion with a touchdown from Bucky Irving, a covered onside kick and a new touchdown from White (31-41), but it was too late. Baltimore covers the second onside kick, eats up a little time, then defends well to finish the match.

No real scares. A fifth victory in a row. Everything is going well for the Ravens, who are still impressive on offense, with a new outing punctuated by at least 150 yards on the ground, like all their other games this year. And when Lamar Jackson ignites in the air, with the help of Rashod Bateman (4 rec, 121 yards, 1 TD) there is nothing more to do.

On the Tampa side, it is mainly the injuries to the receivers that will be worth watching.
