Fans of the mythical jersey and Bucco Bruce will have to wait a little longer.
Since the NFL reversed its one-helmet policy, it was only a matter of time before Tampa Bay took the plunge.
Brian Ford (Director of Operations) announced it, the Buccaneers confirmed it. Floridians are going to rediscover their mythical orange uniform from the 70’s – nicknamed creamsicle – and their iconic Errol Flynn look-alike pirate. The buccaneers will be able to resume the colors of their debut for the first time since 2012. But for that, it will be necessary to wait for the 2023 season.
While the club confirmed the return of the retro uniform, they explained that supply chain constraints were unable to make it available for 2022. Official league supplier Nike was unable to ensure full production for the start of the season. Fans are going to have to wait a bit.
Big news, Krewe! Throwback uniforms returning in 2023 🧡
Due to global supply chain challenges, we will have to wait one more year than hoped.
