Buccaneers: medical green light, this time Antonio Brown has re-signed

The operation repeat continues at the Buccanneers, with the re-signing of a new element of the winning team of the Lombardi Trophy last February. This is Antonio Brown, whose return has been officially confirmed.

The receiver’s signature had been in the works since the end of April. Hit in the knee, Brown had to pass a medical examination to validate his return to Tampa. It’s been done since Tuesday morning.

“He passed the physical tests, and he looks good. I saw him in the weight room this morning. All that is good, and he will be ready”, confirms Bruce Arians, his coach, to ESPN. “The green light is completely in the hands of the doctors. If there’s one thing you don’t care about when talking about Antonio, it’s knowing he’ll be in good shape. We will even have to take precautions so that he does not come back too quickly”.

Despite this apparent serenity, the management of the Buccaneers may not be completely reassured, since the contract is only for 1 year and $6.25 million, of which $3.1 million is guaranteed.

Brown had risen to prominence late in the season, being Brady’s most targeted player in the last 4 regular season games, and scoring a 36-yard touchdown in the Wild Card against Washington. A knee injury during the Divisional Round had deprived him of the conference final. Back for the Super Bowl, he caught 5 passes for 22 yards and 1 touchdown in the Big Game.
