Browns: season over for Deshaun Watson!

Thunderbolt in Cleveland! As the Browns come off their most significant victory of the season, Deshaun Watson is out for the remainder of the season.

According to ESPN, the quarterback suffers from a fracture to a bone in his right shoulder, the one he uses to throw the ball. The Browns quickly confirmed the news, specifying that the player suffers from a fracture of the glenoid cavity of the scapula. Although he was able to complete the match, it was determined that surgery is the best solution to prevent structural damage.

The Browns assure that Watson will be recovered in time for the 2024 season. Furthermore, the press release explains that he also suffered a sprained ankle ligament against the Ravens. An injury that would surely have deprived him of several matches but which is becoming anecdotal.

Watson was coming off a big second half in the game against the Ravens, completing 14 of 14 passes in a last-second victory. A success that seemed like a springboard to relaunch his career. Missed.

Another six-game season for Deshaun Watson

In 2022, Deshaun Watson had only played six games all season. He was deprived of the start of the campaign by an eleven-match suspension following multiple accusations of sexual assault against him.

This year, it was his shoulder that deprived him of several matches, but he ended up coming back and shining against Baltimore. Obviously, not everything was healed.

So the Browns gave a $230 million guaranteed contract to a quarterback who just gave them two 6-game seasons. Watson finishes 2023 with 7 touchdowns for 4 interceptions. Almost the same as his 7 touchdowns and 5 interceptions last year. Enough to bring tears to the eyes of leaders, even if Watson may not understand why.

The difference with last year is that Cleveland currently has one of the best defenses in the league and has a string of successes.

Dorian Thompson-Robinson holder

According to Jordan Schultz of Bleacher Report, rookie Dorian Thompson-Robinson would be the starter. The dual-threat quarterback will play his second game as a starter. Against the Ravens, his first start in the NFL did not go very well. He had thrown 2 interceptions.

PJ Walker should therefore be the backup quarterback. The 28-year-old has started two games this season. He threw just one touchdown to five interceptions.
