Cleveland Browns (3-13) – Miami Dolphins (8-8): 3-20
The Miami Dolphins continue to believe in the playoffs! Without Tua Tagovailoa, Mike McDaniels' men didn't give up and took advantage of the Browns drifting offensively.
Without shining, the Dolphins were able to count on Tyreek Hill (9 rec, 105 yards) and a clean Tyler Huntley as well as the errors of their opponents this Sunday to win.
Football, a foot game
For once, the first half is above all a matter of kicking. 6 punts in total and 3 field goals scored. Two by Miami, one by Cleveland. The visitors then lead 6 to 3 when they return to the locker room.
The attacks have increased the number of bad actions in the meantime. The prize goes to Dorian Thompson-Robinson (24/47, 170 yards, 1 fumble, 1INT) author of an interception. Looking at this first act, how could we not prefer to see Jameis Winston on the field?
The second half will be just as catastrophic offensively for the Browns. The team continues with punts and 4th failed attempts. The young Thompson-Robinson does his part by being sanctioned 3 times for “intentional grounding”, fascinating. We can even evoke the word despairing when at the end of the match, we realize that the quarterback threw 47 times. Pure madness.
Opposite, Miami is content to exploit a few opportunities in attack to make the difference. First it was Tyler Huntley (22/26, 225 yards, 1TD; 7 races, 52 yards, 1TD) who scored the first touchdown of the match on a 15-yard run (3-13).
Then, the Floridians will take advantage of a 4th miss from Cleveland in its 20 yards to score a 2nd touchdown. It's the strong man of the Dolphins' second part of the season, Jonnu Smith (3 rec, 26 yards, 1TD), who is on the receiving end for the touchdown (3-20).
The Miami Dolphins don't convince, but Miami could pull off the heist of the year in week 18.
