Broncos – Packers (19-17): Jordan Love too limited to get victory

Denver Broncos (2-5)-Green Bay Packers (2-4): 19-17

Totally transparent in the first half, the Packers and Jordan Love (21/31, 180 yards, 2 TD, 1 Int) woke up in the 2nd act to offer a real confrontation with their opponent and put themselves in a position to go for the game. But once again, the Wisconsin quarterback forced himself and gave up the game at the same time as the leather on an interception sealing the game. A third defeat in a row for Green Bay, which still worries the way. If the questioning does not happen quickly, we will already have to look towards 2024.

On the Denver side, we finally manage to maintain a lead acquired at the break and score in the second act. Russell Wilson (20/29, 194 yards, 1 TD) notably hit 7 different targets and suffered only one sack.

Deadly bored

When two sick teams meet, the chances of seeing a great spectacle are slim. With the exception of a 33-yard reception from Courtland Sutton (6 receptions, 76 yards, 1TD) on the first drive, this first act is without any flavor. At least mediocre, the Broncos offense produces nearly twice as many yards as its opponent. But unable to achieve success in the red zone, the locals had to settle for 3 field goals for a logical but poorly paid advantage. Still uninspired, Matt LaFleur and Jordan Love return to the locker room with a record of 100 short yards and no incursions into the opposing red zone.

A wake-up call for not much

But sometimes the break is good. The Packers offense returns to the field with a completely different face. If they first settle for a field goal, Jordan Love finds rhythm. A 75-yard run up the field and a connection with Romeo Doubs to definitely put the ball forward. Transfigured compared to the start of the match, Green Bay continues and scores for the 3rd time in 3 possessions. Jayden Reed is at the lucky conclusion of the drive. Initially destined for Doubs, the leather rebounded to the rookie to give his team the advantage.

However, Denver for once did not stop playing in the 2nd half. Silent after the locker room since week 4, the Broncos did not wait long after the break to score points. Wilson finds Courtland Sutton untenable since the start of the match and rightly rewarded. And for the first time this season, they even reached the 10-point mark after a long-distance field goal from Will Lutz giving them back the advantage 4 minutes from the end. An advantage that the Colorado players maintained by intercepting Love in the last 2 minutes, validating their 2nd victory of the season.
