McGlinchey is 28 years old. Drafted in 9th position by the 49ers in 2018, he has since established himself as a very solid player in his position. Last season, he started every game for San Francisco. After the four years of his rookie contract and the optional fifth year that the Niners had activated, he was therefore not retained.
