Bills – Packers (27-17): One half is enough for Buffalo

Buffalo Bills (6-1) – Green Bay Packers (3-5): 27-17

Never worried, the Bills had a fairly quiet evening. Breaking fast, they then managed. A bit too much. Playing easy after the break, they made mistakes in attack and conceded ground especially on the ground.

But the Packers had started too badly to get anything against one of the best teams in the league. Harassed by a dominant defensive line, Aaron Rodgers was constantly under pressure. If he was able to rely on a very good ground game, led by a brilliant Aaron Jones (20 runs, 143 yards), the quadruple MVP only threw 74 yards during the first 3 quarters. Yet, despite an absentee defense in the first half, the adjustments made limited the Bills to 3 points in the second half and stole two balls, which allowed for a bit of a return to the scoreboard. But this too late awakening leaves only regrets for not having started playing earlier.

The Bills attack unfolds

Taking advantage of the largesse on the ground of the opponent (27th NFL), the Bills do not have to force their talent to move the chains. With more than 100 yards in the first half and more than 8 yards per carry, the attack is easily in a good position. And Josh Allen (13/25, 218 yards, 2 TD, 2 Int) just has to do the rest. A small pass to find a lonely Dawson Knox first to open the scoring. Then a superb deep pass to connect with Stefon Diggs.

Meanwhile, Aaron Rodgers (19/30, 203 yards, 2 TD, 1 Int) and his family remain on alternating current. With two punts and a failed 4th attempt, they suffer from the comparison with their opponents. But relying on the always excellent Aaron Jones, they managed to gain ground before Rodgers found rookie Romeo Doubs for a magnificent corner touchdown.

But Buffalo continues its offensive recital on their next possession. Alternating races and short passes and this time it is Isaiah Mckenzie who is at the conclusion on an inverted race on which he easily plays with his opposite.

Aaron Jones deserves better

After the largesse on the ground, the Allen-Diggs duo improves the spaces in the air cover. The quarterback finds his receiver on a bomb from 53 yards which will be enhanced by a field goal just before the break. (24-7)

The Packers attack seems less borrowed than in recent weeks. And this upturn is number 33. Elusive, Aaron Jones has a string of big wins. Breaking through the lines or avoiding tackles, the runner hurts the Bills defense. But as too often in the zone of truth, the Packers liquefy and thwart like this 4th & 1 at the start of the 4th quarter, without imagination and necessarily completely missed. Despite two good possessions after the break, Green Bay only scored 3 points.

In the last quarter, the Bills offense stops playing. Josh Allen throws two interceptions and if Rodgers returns the first on an interception in turn, he improves the second with a superb through pass for a touchdown from rookie Samouri Touré. 27-17

Green Bay loses for the 4th time in a row but remains alive in an NFC that plays who loses wins.
