Buffalo Bills (13-3) – New York Jets (4-12): 40-14
Long since eliminated, the Jets continued to sink into limbo. The trip to the rival's field was more of a match for pride than a sporting issue. But obviously, pride is an unknown word for this team. Led by a quarterback who is nothing more than a shadow of what he once was, the defeat is heavy, scathing and final.
Aaron Rodgers (12/18, 112 yards, 0 TD, 2 int) took on water from all sides. Unable to carry his attack to the slightest point, he even ended up being put on the bench for Tyrod Taylor.
Conversely, Josh Allen (16/27, 182 yards, 2 TDs, 1 rushing TD) continues his campaign to collect his first MVP trophy. If he did not give his best copy, the Buffalo quarterback was decisive in important moments and sent some incredible passes along the way.
Aaron Rodgers at the bottom of the bucket
The New York adventure of the four-time MVP has all the makings of a nightmare. After his injury in 2023, the 2024 financial year is a long journey. And this game in Buffalo is the high point. Unable to lead even the slightest drive towards points, Rodgers was simply bad. Two interceptions, a sack in his in-goal which gave the opponent 2 additional pts, the quarterback was more of a burden than a strength.
Humiliated with a terrible 40 to 0, he was even sent to the bench for the end of the match. His exit coincides with the slight offensive burst of the Jets who scored two touchdowns at the end of the match thanks to Tyrod Tylor.
Chi va piano, va sano and va lontano
The Bills did not have to force their talent to secure their 13th victory of the season. After a touchdown on their first possession by the inevitable Josh Allen, the attack gave the impression of managing, sometimes a little too much. After returning from the locker room, only one field goal was added.
But the enormous work of the defense and the repetition of possessions will end up exploding the opponent. After the 2nd interception, Allen and his team will unfold. Surging against the increasingly permissive Jets, it's a deluge of points that follow one another. Four touchdowns in as many drives. James Cook, Amari Cooper, Keon Coleman add their score. With now 64 touchdowns in 2024, the Bills are having the most offensively prolific season in their history. Like last week, Josh Allen even got some rest in the 4th quarter. Mitch Trubisky, his understudy, drives the point home by finding Tyrell Shavers for a 69-yard touchdown.
