After Tre’Davious White’s serious injury several weeks ago, Buffalo badly needed reinforcement at the cornerback position. This is done with the arrival of Rasul Douglas with the Bills. The 28-year-old leaves Green Bay with a 5th round draft, compared to a 3rd round, as reported by Ian Rapoport of NFL Media.
With this arrival, Buffalo is recovering an experienced player who should immediately settle in as a starter alongside Christian Benford. The Bills, who are openly aiming for the title, really needed a player like Douglas to provide air cover in the absence of White, Kaiir Elam having not yet convinced since his draft.
Rasul Douglas will have his fourth NFL franchise, after the Eagles, the Panthers and therefore the Packers. A true NFL globetrotter, he also spent time in the practice squads of the Raiders, Texans and Cardinals before joining Green Bay in 2021.
The Packers are therefore parting ways with an important starter. Proof once again that Green Bay is rebuilding and looking to rejuvenate its squad for the seasons to come. Jaire Alexander will look very alone at the cornerback position by the end of the season.
