The Buffalo Bills formalized the dismissal of Ken Dorsey, their offensive coordinator, on Tuesday.
The franchise press release is as clear as it is laconic.
“ We have relieved offensive coordinator Ken Dorsey of his duties. Quarterbacks coach Joe Brady will serve as interim offensive coordinator. »
Someone close to Josh Allen
Arriving in February 2019 in Buffalo, Dorsey first held the position of quarterbacks coach. In 2021, he became the passing game coordinator. On February 1, 2022, he became offensive coordinator.
The Bills offense finished the 2022 season second in points scored. This year, Buffalo is eighth.
More than the performance, Dorsey pays above all for the lack of discipline of his squad. With 18 lost balls, the Bills missed a lot of opportunities. Only the Browns have lost possession more times (19). Josh Allen lost 14 balls alone, including 11 interceptions.
Dorsey was fired less than 24 hours after a defeat against the Broncos marked by numerous turnovers.
Brady, Dorsey’s replacement, was the Panthers’ offensive coordinator in 2020 and 2021 when Matt Rhule was Carolina’s head coach. The Panthers were 18th and 19th in points scored during his two campaigns.
