Bills extend Taron Johnson for three years

With a new contract worth $31 million, Johnson becomes the highest-paid slot corner in the league.

Even though Buffalo has significantly overhauled its defense in recent weeks, the team is still looking to retain its young talent. According to ESPN, the Bills have reached an agreement with Taron Johnson for a 3-year contract extension, for an amount of $31 million.

At 27, Johnson becomes the highest paid nickel corner in the NFL.

Last year he participated in 89% of Buffalo's defensive actions, recording 98 tackles, including 3 for loss, 8 passes defended, 3 forced fumbles, and 1 sack.

Johnson was still under contract for 2024, but the operation allows the Bills to somewhat reduce the weight of his contract on the payroll.
