Bills: defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier takes a year off

Leslie Frazier has been the Bills’ defensive coordinator since 2017, but he won’t be on the sidelines for the upcoming season. The Buffalo franchise announced on Tuesday that Frazier will not coach in 2023, but plans to return in 2024.

The cause of the temporary departure of the 63-year-old technician was not specified. He was also an assistant head coach.

Since 2017 and the arrival of Frazier, the Bills have averaged 20 points per game, the third best mark in the league over this period. They are first since 2017 in total yards conceded per game, and yards conceded in the air. They are also second in interceptions (99) and stolen balls (158).

At the same time, the Bills announced the arrival of Al Holcomb as a senior defensive assistant.
