Bears: franchise tag for Jaylon Johnson

Jaylon Johnson will be a Bears player in 2024

Jaylon Johnson remains in Chicago. Indeed, according to Adam Schefter, the Bears have decided to place their franchise tag on the young cornerback.

The franchise is therefore ensuring to keep the defender for the 2024 season. According to initial reports, the two camps are continuing negotiations to find a long-term agreement. If he fails, the player will receive $19.8 million next season.

Despite some injuries which deprived him of 3 games in 2023, Jaylon Johnson is rewarded for his excellent season. With 4 interceptions, 10 deflected passes and 1 forced fumble, the 5th year player was omnipresent in the Bears defense.

Drafted in 2020 in the second round, the player has never allowed more than 60% of passes completed in his direction. Physically and technically, he should continue to have a good time in Chicago.
