Antoine Dupont to train with the Los Angeles Chargers

The NFL is popular with rugby players in 2024! After Louis Rees-Zammit, who left for the Jaguars practice squad, it is Antoine Dupont's turn to make a stint in the NFL. With one notable difference, however: the French scrum-half is only going there for a few days' training camp.

Antoine Dupont will join the Los Angeles Chargers at their invitation to enjoy, in his own way, his last days of vacation. There is no question here, for the moment, of trying his luck in the NFL.

It was the player himself who leaked the information by posting a photo on his social networks equipped with Philip Rivers' jersey, while obviously carrying his recent Olympic gold medal. Later, the specialist site Rugbynistère confirmed that he was leaving for a three-week training camp in California.

This point is to be monitored however because Sud Radio assures that he will only stay until September 30. The player must in any case resume his activity with Stade Toulousain in the coming days.

The news has inevitably caused a reaction among rugby and NFL fans in France, particularly pointing out the choice of franchise which may seem surprising at first glance.

Unless the Chargers have invited Antoine Dupont to replace a possible Justin Herbert withdrawal? The French phenomenon would almost be capable of it!
