Aaron Jones bounces back to Vikings

Barely a few hours after being landed by the Packers, Aaron Jones found a new base. According to The Athletic, the 29-year-old runner will sign with the Vikings. The contract would be for one season for $7 million.

The former face of the Packers therefore moves to the rival. Shows that the NFL remains a business above all and is not one-way.

A versatile runner drafted in the 5th round, Jones quickly became the spearhead of the Packers' ground game. As valuable in the air as in the run, he has established himself as one of the most prolific offensive weapons in recent years and has often been Green Bay's offensive barometer.

The NFC North likes to draw in Green Bay

After 7 seasons in Wisconsin, he will be packing his bags for a short trip to the neighboring state. In 2023, despite several weeks of absence, Jones has accumulated more than 850 yards and scored 3 touchdowns.

He joins a long list of players fired or not retained by the Packers and whose division rivals have tried to revive them in recent years (Sitton, Tonyan, Patrick, St Brown to the Bears, Lang, Williams to the Lions, Za'Darius Smith to the Vikings). The new Viking will meet his old team twice in 2024 with the ambition of making them regret not having kept him.
