A new NFL helmet especially for quarterbacks

It went a little unnoticed, but the offensive and defensive linemen are entitled to a helmet specially designed for them by the company Vicis. It’s called the Zero2-R Trench. From now on, the quarterbacks will also have this chance.

According to NFL.com, the Zero2 Matrix QB has been sanctioned by the league for the upcoming season. According to laboratory tests, this new tool would reduce the violence of the impact when the head hits the ground by 7%.

Because according to the league, these shocks where the quarterback hits his head against the ground represent about half of the concussions for players playing in this position.

Helmets specifically designed for linemen remain at the top of the helmet safety rankings compiled by the league this year and released Thursday, just ahead of that for quarterbacks. The top five rated headsets are all produced by VICIS. Behind, we find Riddell. It’s more complicated for Schutt, who sees seven of his models banned by the NFL this year.
