San Francisco will at least get one of its best offensive players back to meet the Vikings.
San Francisco’s game against Cleveland left its mark. Not only did the Californians lose the game, but three of the team’s offensive stars ended up in the infirmary. If Deebo Samuel and Trent Williams are still unavailable, Christian McCaffrey will be able to participate in the Monday evening game against the Vikings.
Even if the runner remains listed as doubtful following his oblique injury, ESPN announces his participation in the prime time match. He returned to training on a limited basis on Saturday, and said he feels “in great shape.” The fruit of the work of the 49ers medical team, who took turns at McCaffrey’s bedside all week to get him back on his feet.
Despite his reputation for fragility and heavy use, the star running back has not missed a single San Francisco game since arriving in the Bay in October 2022.
His goal will likely be to extend his streak of consecutive games with a touchdown scored. He can aim for 16 games in a row with a score, which would be the second best performance in history behind Lenny Moore (17) during the Baltimore Colts era (1964-65).
