The Steelers know how to pay tribute to their legends
About to be honored by the Steelers half a century after his famous “Immaculate Reception”, legend Franco Harris sadly lost his life on December 20th. But Pittsburgh did its best to pay him the best of tributes this Saturday.
Already removing his jersey as planned at halftime of the match against Las Vegas. And then by going for a great victory in the last seconds against the Raiders, a bit like 50 years ago during the Playoffs match between the two teams…
Undoubtedly, from up there, Franco enjoyed it.

Josh Jacobs is (really) fed up with the Raiders
“It’s crap. And it’s our fault. Everyone wants to talk about the defense, but she did the job and we have to help her. I’m tired of saying this. It’s frustrating.
I’m tired of having to deal with this bullshit. I break my ass every day, the other guys too, but the results are not there. It has been going on for four years. And honestly, I don’t know what else to do. »
Here are the words of running back Josh Jacobs (only 15 races for 44 yards) following the new setback for the Raiders (6 wins – 9 losses this season), defeated at the Steelers 13-10 after granting a touchdown in the last minute.
Something tells us the Las Vegas running back will look elsewhere this offseason, when he becomes a free agent.
Commanders have no commander
Taylor Heinicke or Carson Wentz?
This is the question that Washington coach Ron Rivera is currently asking. While Heinicke had guided the Commanders to five wins in six games after taking the place of Wentz, he was replaced by the latter this weekend in San Francisco, where Washington chained a third game without a win (two losses, one no).
No decision has yet been made by the Commanders regarding the identity of the starting quarterback for the last two games of the season. But if they want to hang the Playoffs (spot 7 currently), they better make the right choice. If there is one…
TY Hilton is the missing piece in the Cowboys offense
While we were waiting for Odell Beckham Jr. at the Cowboys, it was finally the former Indianapolis receiver TY Hilton who landed in Dallas two weeks ago. And for his first match in his new colors on Saturday, Hilton has already been decisive.
Only a reception at the counter, but what a reception! 52 yards on a third attempt and 30, all in the fourth quarter as the Cowboys trailed 34-27 in the clash against the Eagles. Certainly one of the turning points of the match, Dallas ending up winning 40-34.
“It’s great, and it boosted us. If I’m able to do that kind of action, the sky’s the limit for us,” Hilton told ESPN after the game.
Nick Bosa has optioned Defender of the Year
As the 49ers continue their impressive rise, Nick Bosa’s record in the Defender of the Year debate is getting stronger and stronger. The defensive end further boosted San Francisco’s formidable defense during the game against Washington, finishing with 7 tackles (including 2 for loss of yards), 2 sacks, 4 QB hits and 1 forced fumble.
Current leader of the NFL in the number of sacks (17.5), Bosa can be considered the favorite in the race for the trophy, his main competitor Micah Parsons (Cowboys) being a little more discreet in recent weeks.
The Packers are alive!
“Everything that was supposed to happen this weekend has happened”
That’s what Aaron Rodgers said after his Packers’ big win in Miami. By winning with the Dolphins, Green Bay (record of 7 wins – 8 losses) took full advantage of the defeats of New York (8-6-1), Washington (7-7-1), Seattle (7-8) and Detroit (7-8) to get back into the Playoff race.
With two games to play (against Minnesota and Detroit at home), the Packers can now dream of an unexpected qualification for the playoffs, they who posted a record of 4-8 at the end of November…
After beating the Dolphins, the Packers’ simplest path to the playoffs is win out and either:

Tua Tagovailoa and Russell Wilson give the best gifts this Christmas
Playing at Christmas is rare in the NFL, so Tua Tagovailoa and Russell Wilson took the opportunity to give their opponent some nice gifts.
Three interceptions for Tua on three consecutive drives in the second half against the Packers, two interceptions on his first two drives of the game for Wilson (he will send a third before being benched) against the Rams. And a defeat on both sides.
Great art.
No Pro Bowl for Tua, logical finally
Speaking of Tua Tagovailoa, the latter was one of the “great forgotten” of the list for the Pro Bowl this week. Suffice to say that the narrative around him changed somewhat following his performance against Green Bay.
While questioning Tua’s great season because of a game may seem unfair, his non-selection for the Pro Bowl is not. Pat Mahomes, Josh Allen and Joe Burrow – all of whom won this weekend and lead the top three AFC teams – remain a cut above the Miami quarterback, who should be thinking about finding a way to turn around instead his Dolphins (four losses in a row)
The Panthers more than ever in the race to win the NFC South
Carried by a simply unstoppable running game (320 yards), the Panthers beat one of the teams in the form of the moment (Detroit) on Saturday, thus winning their third victory in four games. Even better, they have their destiny in their hands with a view to qualifying for the Playoffs.
If Steven Wilks’ men win their last two games of the season, against direct division opponents (Tampa Bay and New Orleans, away), they will indeed win their ticket. A scenario far from improbable when you know that Carolina has already beaten the Buccaneers and the Saints this season, and that Tampa Bay – the current leader of the NFC South – is clearly takeable in view of its results.
Tom Brady became Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde
Once again decisive in the clutch moments yesterday to allow Tampa Bay to snatch the victory in Arizona, Tom Brady also released a third consecutive game with two interceptions. A first in… two decades for Brady.
This double face shown by the quarterback is quite symbolic of the Buccaneers. Last week, Brady’s team dominated Cincinnati for one half before exploding in the third quarter. This Sunday, Tampa almost lost against the Cardinals of Trace McSorley (third quarterback) before saving the furniture at the end of the game.
Really not reassuring in view of the Playoffs, if they manage to do so…
