Zion Williamson opens up about her weight issues

We cannot speak of a “flop” because he was All-Star and when he is on the field, he is a monster of efficiency. But four years after being drafted No. 1 by the Pelicans, Zion Williamson only played 144 games in the NBA. The Pelicans strong winger has spent more time in the hospital than on the field, and after a lack of season he has only played 29 games this year. At 23, he has a string of injuries, and the problem is partly nutritional. His overweight puts a strain on his joints and muscles.

“Since it’s you, I’m going to be sincere… There were times when I wasn’t (seriously)…” he confides on the set of Gilbert Arenas podcast. “At 20, 22, you feel like you have all the money in the world and (the diets) are difficult, it’s true. I am here today thanks to certain things and the wisdom of those around me. I don’t want to say that I’m older, but the people around me who have wisdom have put me on the path to certain things, and that’s where I can go from. Before. »

His cute sin? Sodas and desserts, obviously. Gilbert Arenas admits it was the same for him, and it’s hard for Zion Williamson to do without the sugar.

Fix Errors

It is therefore for him to exercise discipline and resist temptations.

“When you’re young, you think nothing can stop you… But when I look back, I think of all those who gave me wise advice, who tried to make me eat better, by saying, ‘You don’t need this or that…'” he continues. “What I mean is that they don’t try to force your hand… But at this point in my career, I wonder who really gave me good advice, who tried to put me back on the right path…”

Zion Williamson says he hears the critics. Even if they hurt, he accepts them because the first to be punished is himself. “I’m a basketball player, and every time I’m on the sideline watching my teammates lose, I get angry because I know if I was there I could change the outcome. Whether people believe it or not, it all affects me. My only desire is to play basketball and be on the field. No one wants to stay on the sidelines… There are a lot of things I could have done better and I am in the process of fixing those mistakes”.

For this summer, Zion Williamson has chosen to focus on flexibility. He thinks it’s more important than the pounds lost. See you in September to see the first results.
