Zion Williamson is close to perfection against the Sixers!

As against the Wolves, the Sixers had to do without Joel Embiid. And as in this match, they lost in New Orleans against the Pelicans who recovered CJ McCollum to support Zion Williamson and Brandon Ingram. The start of the match was completely missed by Nick Nurse’s troops, who conceded a 14-3 in four minutes to start.

Zion Williamson and his gang are patient and with McCollum already hitting from afar, they take control from the first quarter (39-24). They will not let go of this lead throughout the match, which will swell in the second quarter thanks to the Sixers’ lost balls (eleven in twelve minutes). So much so that, at the break, the match was well underway for the New Orleans players (68-48).

Especially since Williamson does damage near the circle after returning from the locker room, with several dunks. Tyrese Maxey is alone to respond, with his winning shots (102-81). And as against the Wolves, the Sixers are certainly too short but they will have fought until the end. In the final minutes, they reduced the gap to finally lose 124-114.

What you must remember

CJ McCollum back. Victim of a pneumothorax, the former Portlander made his return, 25 days after his last match. He started the game well with his eight points in the first quarter, but then the lack of rhythm made itself felt. However, he has nothing to be ashamed of and finishes with 20 points at 7/16 shooting, 5 assists and 4 rebounds.

Zion Williamson almost perfect. Joel Embiid absent to protect the circle, the interior of the Pelicans had fun with 33 points at 11/12 on the shoot! He also delighted the fans with a few dunks, especially in the third quarter. He also adds 8 rebounds, 6 assists and 3 interceptions to his statistics sheet to offer a high quality performance.
