Zacharie Risacher on a mission to gain weight

Announced at 91 kilos for 2m06 on the official NBA website, Zacharie Risacher is not the most powerful rookie of his vintage, that’s obvious. The first choice of the Draft is clearly a little light, even frail, in his position.

Consequently and like any good beginner who arrives in the NBA, and perhaps even more so given his size, he spent the summer filling up his weight. Helped well by the Hawks.

“I already knew that recovery was important and I did it as much as possible, but I was doing it alone in France. Now I have a boss and people who can help me,” he compares. “I eat a little more now, not every hour, but with something every two hours. It's smarter than three big meals with big portions. The approach is a little smarter because there is professional help. »

Zaccharie Risacher alternates between small snacks, with lots of protein, and physical preparation sessions, undoubtedly with the help of Anthony Brossard.

Plus, a crucial element in his daily life, the presence of a chef to prepare his meals.

“I like to relax and it’s great to already have meals prepared,” supports the former from Bourg-en-Bresse. “I used to cook, wash dishes and so on. There, I come back from training and my meal is already there. I eat and we take care of everything. It's special. Especially since I'm not used to it, but it's a big step forward for me and I'm very happy with it. I'm happy to be in this position, where I can take care of the essentials, basketball, which is the most important to me, and not worry about the rest. »
