Young Nuggets eager to tap into Russell Westbrook's energy

It is unclear whether Mike Malone is really happy about the arrival of Russell Westbrook as Jamal Murray's back-up. On the other hand, we know that Christian Braun and Peyton Watson are very enthusiastic…

“He attacks constantly. He’s athletic. Tough. Mean. He provokes directly. Those are the kind of players I liked.” explains the firstwho should be the starter. “Those I was learning from.”

For Peyton Watson, the connection is even more direct because he comes from Long Beach, California, like Russell Westbrook. And he also went to UCLA, like the 2017 MVP. The two men have known each other for years, “Brodie” offering his advice, especially by text, as soon as he can to his young padawan.

“He's been a huge inspiration to me, because of the passion he plays with, the fact that he's unapologetically himself and he's someone who, in my opinion, always gives his all on the pitch.”

Energy is also the word that comes up in the mouths of the two young Nuggets about the club's rookie.

“I love his game. I loved his game when I was young. I love his game now.”concludes Christian Braun, who is however not going to give up his number #0 to his elder. “His energy and his tenacity are things that every team needs. He loves the game. He plays with the right intensity … He always attacks, being so aggressive, so hard. I know he will bring positive things to our team. He is someone who brings hunger and passion.”
