Naz Reid and Jaylen Nowell seem to be made not to let go. Both men had their option activated this summer by Wolves. In their fourth and final year of contract, they have the same salary of $1.9 million. This makes them very profitable players in terms of their production.
According to The Athletic, the two replacements have entered into discussions to extend their respective contracts. Jaylen Nowell should probably experience the biggest salary development. Because, as imagined at the start of the season, he seems on track to resume the role of top scorer from the bench, previously occupied by Malik Beasley. After three games, the back 6th man has 15 points on average.
Despite ongoing negotiations, the 43rd pick in the 2019 Draft would rather intend to become an unprotected free agent next season, to test his market value with other teams.
As for the undrafted interior, it manages to exist despite its status as the “third” wheel of the carriage behind Karl-Anthony Towns and Rudy Gobert. Last night against OKC, he was also very productive with 14 points (5/7 on shots) and 3 rebounds in 13 minutes of play.
“ I said to him in the locker room: ‘You are good, Naz. You are good.’ I don’t think I have that in me, coming into the game in the fourth quarter, going 5/7 on shots and scoring 14 points to help us pull the gap, so they don’t come back . I have never seen someone like him », has also congratulated Anthony Edwardswho shone alongside the substitutes in the last quarter.
