We're gradually getting to the heart of the promotional calendar planned by 2K Sports in view of the release of NBA 2K25, on September 6. From August 19 to 26, it will be the turn of the 100 best ratings of the 100 best players in the game to be revealed.
This is a moment always awaited by the community and even by the players themselves. It will thus be the occasion to see the main progressions or falls, and thus Victor Wembanyama would pass from 84 in NBA 2K24 to 91 in NBA 2K25! To start, 2K Sports offers a daily top five of the best scores in a specific category.
A'Ja Wilson Hits the Jackpot
The top five WNBA player ratings are already known and A'Ja Wilson is still at the top of the pyramid with this year a perfect 99, one point more than last year. Double Olympic champion and recent MVP of the Paris 2024 Olympics, the Las Vegas Aces center is ahead of her teammates in the national team Breanna Stewart (97) and Napheesa Collier who shares third place on the podium with Alyssa Thomas, with a rating of 95. Brittney Griner completes the five with a nice 94 for the American, also an Olympic champion.
The rookie scores were also expected, particularly concerning Caitlin Clark, a new WNBA phenomenon this season. The Indiana player inherits a very nice 90 but shares first place with Angel Reese, also at 90.
2K Sports continued its top 5 NBA players by focusing on specific characteristics before revealing the overall ratings. We learn that Kyrie Irving has the best handle in the league with a rating of 99, ahead of Stephen Curry (97), Trae Young (96) and the Harden-Doncic pair at 95.
Stephen Curry still on top
The two highest-rated dunkers are Ja Morant and Anthony Edwards, who both sit at 97 in shooting. Jaylen Brown and Shaedon Sharpe are next, one point behind, and Zion Williamson, at 95.
The Top 5 best interceptors in the NBA were also presented, a ranking dominated by Matisse Thybulle (98), ahead of Alex Caruso (97) and a trio at 96 composed of Marcus Smart, Delon Wright and Dyson Daniels.
THE Top 5 3-point shooters The highest rated was perhaps the most anticipated. Unsurprisingly, Stephen Curry still leads the way with a perfect 99, just like last season. The rest of the rankings draw more attention, with Suns sniper Grayson Allen coming in second with a score of 93. That's better than teammate Kevin Durant (92), as well as Klay Thompson and Mike Conley, both at 89.
As a reminder, Grayson Allen is still coming off a season with 46.1% success behind the arc in nearly six attempts on average over 75 games. That's much better than Stephen Curry (40.8%), even if the Warriors' point guard takes nearly double that, and his shooting science is no longer in doubt, especially after his last Olympic campaign…
