WNBA All-Star Game | Caitlin Clark a few votes from A'ja Wilson

The WNBA All-Star Game in Phoenix on July 20 will be a little special. With the Paris Olympic Games on the horizon, the women's league is taking the opportunity to organize a dress rehearsal for the American players, with Team USA going to challenge a WNBA Team, which will bring together the 12 All-Stars not selected for the Olympics.

The voting system is therefore also special, fans being able to vote for all the players, even if the 12 players from Team USA already have a guaranteed place for the match…

A’ja Wilson is already sure to be there, but she is also at the top of the fan vote, with 217,773 votes. But she is not ahead of the rookie Caitlin Clark (216,427) by only a few votes. In third position, we find Aliyah Boston (171,864), teammate of the all-time leading scorer in NCAA history at the Indiana Fever.

Who to complete Team WNBA?

In fourth position? It is Breanna Stewart (151,984), member of the Olympic team, unlike fifth, Arike Ogunbowale (130,838). Note that the rookie Angel Reese (118,490) is on its seventh side.

Fan votes will close on June 29, and the chosen Top 10 will be guaranteed to participate in the All-Star Game.

Concretely, this means that opposite A'ja Wilson, Breanna Stewart, Diana Taurasi, Brittney Griner, Alyssa Thomas, Napheesa Collier, Jewell Loyd, Kelsey Plum, Jackie Young, Sabrina Ionescu, Chelsea Gray, Kahleah Copper, there should be have Caitlin Clark, Aliyah Boston, Angel Reese and Dearica Hamby.

For the remaining places, the WNBA will, like the NBA, make a mixture between 50% of the public votes, 25% of the players' votes and 25% of the journalists' votes.

The Team WNBA team will be announced on July 2, while participants will also need to be found for the 3-point competition and the Skills Challenge, which will be held on July 19 at the Footprint Center.
