In the first six games of the season, Sabrina Ionescu posted averages of 12.2 points, 6.7 rebounds, 4 assists and 1 steal, 34.2% shooting including 38.1% from 3-pointers… Figures well below his standards. But the awakening of the former player from the University of Oregon took place yesterday.
On the floor of the Atlanta Dream, she had the best game of her season with 37 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals at 10/18 shooting including 8/13 from 3-pointers! A very high level performance which of course allowed the New York Liberty to win easily (106-83).
“As long as we win, that’s all that matters. I know I’m a good shooter.” confides the player. “I suffered from a small injury recently, but it’s nice to see the ball coming in. I trust the work”.
Her previous career high was during her rookie season, in her second game in the league, where she scored 33 points, in July 2020.
Pass under the screens? A lack of respect…
Friday was his 7th career game with 30 or more points. In addition, by scoring 8 3-pointers during the game against Atlanta, she set a new Liberty franchise record.
“I didn’t know what the franchise record for 3-pointers was.
