Washington started this season well with three wins in four games, and without Bradley Beal being forced to score 30 points per night. Unfortunately, Wes Unseld Jr lost one of the summer recruits since Delon Wright will be gone six to eight weeks! The former Hawks point guard suffered a large hamstring tear in his right thigh, and we know that the healing of such an injury is long, and that relapses are frequent.
Washington therefore loses the defensive leader of his “second unit”, and the lining of Monte Morris. On paper, rookie Jordan Goodwin can fill the interim, but we wouldn’t be surprised if management brought in an additional point guard.
Injury update: Delon Wright will be out indefinitely with a grade two strain of his right hamstring.
