Wizards let Landry Shamet go

Having been waiting for a week for his future, like Chris Paul previously or Devonte' Graham who has just been fixed, Landry Shamet will ultimately not continue his career in the capital. ESPN actually reports that the Wizards chose not to activate the $11 million option on his contract for the upcoming season.

At 27, the full-back therefore becomes free agent without protection and he can sign wherever he wants. Having played for five franchises so far, without ever settling down permanently anywhere, the former Wichita State resident should not fail to attract the eye of a few executives in the coming days. It remains to be seen at what price.

Known primarily for his shooting ability, Landry Shamet has a career 38% 3-point shooting success rate (for an average of 8.7 points). He joined Washington a year ago, after having passed through Philadelphia, the Clippers, Brooklyn and then Phoenix.
