With the return of TJ Warren, the Nets bench takes on an extra dimension

The good news has been piling up since the departure of Steve Nash from Brooklyn. Because TJ Warren has finally made his comeback following an injury to his left foot which cost him almost two years of absence.

Under the orders of Jacque Vaughn, the Nets are now 13 wins in 20 games, the last to date last night against Atlanta (120-116), a meeting which also saw the return to play of Ben Simmons.

For his fourth game since his return to the NBA courts, TJ Warren for his part released his best performance with 14 points at 6/8 shooting, 2 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals. His contribution thus gives new relief to the bench of the Nets and one more weapon to his new coach.

“Whatever the rotations, whether someone comes in or goes out, we come to a point where everyone just has to play their part in order to help us win. And TJ is still in there”slipped the coach.

Objective ? Get ready for the playoffs

For Kevin Durant too, having such a profile is very good news for Brooklyn.

“He finds his legs, he is an effective player. 14 points off the bench, he manages to make his way to the circle, to cut, he manages to position himself well in attack. And in defense too, he manages to cut the passing lines, generate ball losses. He looked good tonight.”, said KD. “He will improve as he goes along, when he is more comfortable and finds his rhythm. It’s a process, but his 6/8 shooting off the bench, all of it looking like he didn’t sweat at all, it shows how talented he is.”

There is no hurry indeed for TJ Warren, who still has to go upmarket and accumulate good performances of this kind in order to gradually become the player he was in Indiana. The winger is not under too much pressure since Jacque Vaughn has set him the coming spring as the main deadline.

“He doesn’t need to come full throttle today, next week, the week after, for January or February. We want him to be ready for the playoffs.”, concluded the Nets coach.
