With an exceptional Victor Wembanyama, the Spurs bring down the Thunder!

Even if the Spurs don't win many matches, they make heads roll! After the Wolves, it's the Thunder's turn to bite the dust against Victor Wembanyama's teammates, and the Frenchman simply signs a historic performance: 28 points, 12 rebounds, 7 assists, 5 blocks and 5 3-point baskets . Never before has a player accumulated such stats!

It's “Wemby” who makes the difference in the “money time” with two winning shots, and a counter on Chet Holmgren! In an exciting match from start to finish, played at an intense pace, it was first Tre Jones who hit a 3-pointer to give a six-point lead (119-113) four minutes from the end.

Then Wembanyama pulled out all the stops with two 3-pointers, a block, two rebounds and an assist in… two minutes! The Spurs take off, and it's Devin Vassell who knocks out the Thunder to offer victory to San Antonio (132-118).

What you must remember

– A crazy first quarter. No observation round between the Spurs and the Thunder, and it was Chet Holmgren who struck first. The Thunder rookie clearly dominated the start of the match, while “Wemby” played the intimidator. The Spurs collective, with 11 assists on 14 baskets, allowed them to stay in contact.

– Wemby’s cons. Author of a decisive counter on Holmgren at the end of the match, the Frenchman had the luxury of countering Shaqi Gilgeous-Alexander twice. The Thunder's All-Star point guard is one of the most difficult players to counter due to his ability to create distance with his defender. But Wembanyama's arms make the difference.

– Home Sweet Home. The Spurs were back home after their annual “Rodeo Road Trip.” They had only won one match in eight on the road, and lost five in a row. But the support of the public at the Frost Bank Center allowed them to create the feat of the evening. Moreover, Wembanyama took the microphone at the end of the match to tell the fans that he had missed them!
