Ranked third from the last FIBA Power Rankingabout ten days before the start of the World Cup, theAustralia has just experienced a small disappointment by bowing against the Brazil in a friendly match (90-86).
In a very rhythmic match offensively, the “Boomers”, in Melbourne, effectively cracked at the end of the game against their Brazilian opponents, taller and athletic and above all particularly skilful behind the arc (16/35), like from 5/7 in the exercise of veteran full-back Vitor Benite. In a register closer to the circle, the former NBAer Bruno Caboclo recorded a hearty double-double (20 points and 12 rebounds), to respond to that of Josh Giddey who as usual showed off his versatility (20 points and 10 rebounds).
Next matches for the two nations: against South Sudan on Thursday then against France on Sunday for Australia, and against Venezuela on Thursday then Italy on Sunday and Serbia on Monday for Brazil.
