Will Precious Achiuwa Return to the Knicks?

By not offering him a qualifying offer, the Knicks had given up control of Precious Achiuwato focus on Isaiah Hartenstein. But the latter flew to Oklahoma City for $87 million.

Which may offer a chance for the former Toronto player to stay in New York. He would not be against extending his adventure there, if we follow the information from SNYconfirmed by The Athletic.

Still according to our colleagues at SNY, Precious Achiuwa would have also received the interest of several competitive teams. Which is not surprising because he is no longer protected, and therefore the Knicks will not be able to match the outside offers to keep him automatically.

That several franchises have him in their sights is logical since the pivot will only be 25 years old in September and is coming off a successful part of the season in New York with 7.6 points and 7.2 rebounds on average in 24 minutes.

He's a great soldier, a hard-working player, and there's no doubt that Tom Thibodeau would welcome his return, to have him on hand when other bigs – Mitchell Robinson and Julius Randle come to mind – are injured or unavailable.
