Will Kevin Huerter be ready for the start of the season?

Cut off in his tracks at the worst possible moment, Kevin Huerter had a very difficult and shortened 2023/24 season. His ” worse ” in his career, he confessed, after being injured and then having surgery on his left shoulder, just a few days before the play-in.

Where is he in his rehabilitation? The Kings shooter can now return to the courts, do shooting drills and weight training. Then, in mid-October, he will get the green light to resume contact play.

Learn Patience

“I can start again on September 5th, so it's been a long summer.”he recently said to Check Ball Show. “For anyone who has had an injury or surgery, it’s a drag. It takes forever. I’m trying to be patient. They told me it’s going to be six months of rehab, so we’re trying to stick to that schedule. I feel good and I want to do more.”

With the regular season starting Tuesday, Oct. 22 — the 24th for Sacramento against Minnesota — will Kevin Huerter suit up for the Kings' first half of the season? It will likely be a race against time.

“I'm looking forward to the training camp, which starts on October 1st,” he answers without being more specific. “But I especially want to do more and start playing again.”
